Wilkins' Oklahoma Truck Supply, one of the largest chrome accessory shops in the Plains States area, is owned by a father and son partnership, Clifford and Brett Wilkins. Opened in 1987, with two shelves of chrome and a lot of hard work, Wilkins' Oklahoma Truck Supply has grown to be one of the most extensive accessory shops around. With their love of vintage trucks and an appreciation of the over-the-road lifestyle, Clifford and Brett run a shop that caters to the wants and needs of today's truck driver. Besides carrying chrome, they offer diesel maintenance and repair and have a wrecker service available. When they can manage to squeeze a few spare hours out of their busy schedules, they enjoy restoring old trucks to a luster and shine that rivals the original models. These restoration "pieces" are often displayed on the lot, the most memorable projects is the 50 foot "sign" that draws the eye and admiration of passing motorists. Made from an actual semi truck raised on its nose and firmly cemented in place, this unusual advertisement has been featured in several magazines both here and abroad, and never fails to bring comments of awe and surprise.
Also playing a major role in the operation of the business are Clifford's wife, Dolores, and Brett's wife, Kimber. Kimber is in charge of ordering the many varieties of parts and accessories, while Dolores keeps everything running smoothly in the office. Both are on hand daily to greet customers with a friendly smile and a helping hand. In the summer and during school vacations, even Brett's daughter, Kyla, joins the team. And last, but certainly not least, Brett's five-year-old son, Tanner, is often around, amazing everyone with his already impressive knowledge of trucks and truck parts, learned first-hand from his father and grandfather. With a love of the business that spans three generations, it's easy to see shy Wilkins' Oklahoma Truck Supply has become such a successful and lasting enterprise.
